OHF 333
It is a rootstock of medium vigour and propagates crowns at a rate of 65-70% of a standard seed rootstock. It should not be preferred in heavy and water-retaining soils. It is poorly strong in calcareous soil conditions with high pH. It is resistant to fire blight and partly resistant to pear decline. It is sensitive to nematodes and plant viral diseases.
FOX 11
It is a semi-dwarf rootstock of medium vigour and grows up to 65-70% of a standard seed rootstock. It has a root system with good holding in the soil. While being capable of adapting to soil types with various properties, it has a quite good resistance to calcareous soils with high pH. It is well compatible with most of the pear varieties. It has an impact which enhances the yield of the varieties on which it is grafted.
QUİNCE A
It is a rootstock of quince origin and medium vigour which has a surficial root system. It is resistant to crown gall (Agrobacterium tumefaciens) and sensitive to fire blight. It has medium resistance to ground water and lime. It causes the variety on which it is grafted to bear fruits early. It is suitable for close planting. It should be used as an intermediate rootstock as it may display grafting incompatibility with some pear varieties including Williams.
FOX 9
It is a dwarf rootstock equal to BA27 in vigour. It has a positive impact on fruit quality. It is a productive rootstock. It is a rootstock suitable for soils with high pH and lime in which many other rootstocks may be well grown. It is compatible with almost all of the pear varieties. It bears fruits early and is applied closely and vertically.
FAROLD 40
It is an ideal rootstock for permeable soils rich in organic matters. Besides, it may also adapt to soils with high pH. It is resistant to fire blight (Erwinia amylowora) and may tolerate pear decline. It is compatible with pear varieties of European origin. It is a little stronger than BA 29 and is a rootstock suitable for close planting. It is substantially effective on fruit yield and quality.
QUİNCE BA 29
It is a semi-dwarf rootstock displaying a little more vigour as compared to Quince A and OHF 333. It grows at a rate of 60-70% of a standard seed rootstock. It induces the variety on which it is grafted to yield after the second year. It is so good an impact on the fruit yield and quality. It is tolerant to heavy and water-retaining soils. It is resistant to crown gall (Agrobacterium tumefaciens) and crown rot disease and moderately sensitive to fire blight. Further, some resources report that it is resistant to pear decline.
